Ryan Vallo is an actor (Equity), historian (AHA), and screenwriter (WGGB), specializing in prestige historical dramas for film, television, and books.
Creator of character-driven biopics, period dramas, and biographies, Ryan combines the rigor of historians with the emotional instincts of actors. He works at the crossroads of acting, history, and screenwriting––bringing the lives of real people from the archives to the book and screen.
With over 25 years’ experience, Ryan’s work explores figures like President Harry S. Truman, President Andrew Jackson, and revolutionary poet Phillis Wheatley––stories where ambition, power, and human character collide in history’s pivotal moments. Ryan’s scripts have placed in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, the Emerging Screenwriters, and ISA’s Table Read My Screenplay contests.
A trained actor in the conservatory music theatre program at Baldwin Wallace University and the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, Ryan is also a history master’s graduate from the University of Edinburgh.
An American who has lived years in Scotland, Ryan knows how the archives open doors—to distant landscapes, to forgotten lives, to history's hidden dramas. An old-soul gentleman, he is driven by the conviction that the stories of our past are the compass for our future.
